Post-Storm Tree Inspection and Risk Assessments

Severe weather can leave trees weakened and unpredictable, posing risks to your property and safety.

Storms, strong winds, and flooding can compromise a tree’s stability, making professional assessment essential. An AQF Level 5 arborist can identify hidden hazards, assess structural integrity, and recommend the necessary actions to ensure safety and prevent further damage.

Where applicable, ArborEcological can provide the necessary information required for a tree removal permit from your local council.

  • A visual tree inspection can be conducted as a pre-emptive measure to give you peace of mind during severe weather or, as a post storm safety measure.

Our fully insured and qualified AQF Level 5 Arborists will assess the following:

Assessing Tree Stability: We examine the overall structural integrity of the tree, checking for signs of leaning, cracks in the trunk, or weakened branches that may pose a hazard.

Crown Integrity: The crown (the upper part of the tree, including branches and leaves) is inspected for broken, hanging, or damaged limbs that could fall.

Root System Evaluation: Storms can weaken a tree’s anchoring by loosening or exposing roots. We check for signs of root upheaval, soil displacement, or decay that could compromise the tree’s ability to stand securely

  • A Quantified Tree Risk Assessment is an excellent pre-emptive measure to give you piece of mind during severe weather. These risks assessments are also ideal for schools, golf clubs and public spaces.

To determine a tree's level of risk it is assessed for structural weaknesses, disease, or proximity to structures and people. These factors inform our recommendations for appropriate management measures to mitigate those risks. We use the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) methodology and have two registered QTRA assessors as part of our team.

QTRA assesses the risk of tree failure, allowing tree owners to manage it in line with internationally recognised risk tolerance standards. It also provides a structured decision-making framework that balances the benefits of trees, the level of risk they present, and the costs of effective risk management.

  • Our fully insured and qualified AQF Level 5 Arborists will assess your trees safely and provide the following:

Comprehensive Findings: Our reports provide a detailed assessment of each inspected tree, including observations on structural integrity, root stability, and canopy health.

Risk Evaluation: We highlight any potential hazards, such as weakened branches, leaning trunks, or compromised root systems, that may pose a risk to people or property.

Recommended Actions: Based on our findings, we outline necessary steps such as pruning and if required tree removal to restore safety and tree health.

Long-Term Maintenance Advice: To promote tree resilience and prevent future storm damage, we offer tailored recommendations for ongoing care, such as soil management, watering, and structural support.

These reports serve as a valuable guide for property owners to make informed decisions about tree safety.
